Sometimes, when I am on the social networks, I am shocked to see Christians wildly insulting each other. How can that be? Yes, okay, we disagree on some issues - a surprising number of issues! But good. Still, you don't have to insult and block each other right away.

In today's Gospel, I read (once again) that there was division among his listeners even during Jesus' lifetime. (Jn 7:43) People have never been unanimous about what to think of him, his deeds and his speech. That comforts me a little.

But only a little bit. If we want to be his disciples, disagreements go well, but insults not at all.
